St Ive Parish Council

In 2013 I saw in the parish newsletter that we were short of parish councillors so I volunteered to be co-opted onto St Ive Parish Council.

With my computing background I was chosen to be Chair of the Internet Steering Group, and promoted the parish internet presence by creating a parish website and Facebook page. I was determined to drag the parish council kicking and screaming into the 21st century.

As Chair of the Neighbourhood Development Plan Working Group I guide the creation of democratic and local planning policy for the parish until beyond 2030.

In 2014 I was elected Vice Chair of St Ive Parish Council because of my contributions to the parish.

Millennium House, Pensilva

The biggest asset and responsibility in the parish is our Community Centre, Millennium House. We have improving it by adding a large array of solar panels, which will contribute handsomely to finances in a few years time. In the meantime, the centre is loosing a lot of money. I am involved in the Millennium House Forum which is addressing the future of our centre.
